Day 2,547

I can’t recall the taste of food.. nor the sound of water.. nor the touch of grass. I’m.. naked in the dark. There’s.. There’s nothing. No veil between me and the wheel of fire. Sam.. Oh, Sam.. I mean Chris.. Oh, Chris.. is the shopping cart ready yet, Chris? If so, please put me in it and cart my poor, tired ass right over Mt. Doom. I’m ready to check out.

That was me just over two weeks ago. The truth is I think Frodo had the much easier charge.

Welcome to day 2,547 of the Krone project. Yes, it’s been nearly seven years to the day that Chris and I undertook this ambition. Some would call it madness: two musicians with no record company backing, no financial backing, no team, and no clue how the hell we were going to pull off a rock opera of this scale. But, the old saying “luck follows courage” seems to have held true here. Determination and a belief in the worth of what we had set out to do attracted every resource needed, so that now - 2,547 days later - the actualization of our great opus nears its end.

Initially, I considered filling this first post with a history of Krone’s long journey from conception to the delivery room. But, (1) that would’ve amounted to nothing short of a novel and (2) would have held little worth for the reader. For those who have made the journey, that story is forever written on our hearts (and grey hairs). For those reading this post, the most important message is that Krone began in many ways as a personal ambition. But, as a family grew around it, Krone became more about others and less about self - to a point, near the end, at which I found myself its greatest servant, and in that service, learned more about myself and the good of humanity than I ever might have had I never taken this path.

To the many people who have contributed their time, talent, resources, and love to bringing this work to fruition, thank you. On today of all days (Labor Day), we honor your gifts.
